Job Description
About the Role
Work with MediaTek's AI Labs on optimizing neural network models for deployment on smartphones, wearables, and IoT devices — enabling powerful AI locally without cloud connectivity.
What You Will Work On
Evaluate and optimize models for MediaTek's APU (AI Processing Unit)
Apply model compression: structured pruning, knowledge distillation, INT8/INT4 QAT
Profile inference latency and memory footprint on target hardware
Implement benchmark harnesses for accuracy vs. efficiency trade-offs
Survey and implement papers from CVPR, ECCV, MLSys, NeurIPS
Required Qualifications
Currently pursuing Master's or PhD in CS, EE, or related
Strong Python and hands-on PyTorch experience
Solid understanding of CNN/Transformer architectures
Ability to read and implement algorithms from academic papers
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with model compression, NAS, or efficient inference
Familiarity with TFLite, ONNX, or TVM
Prior exposure to mobile or embedded platforms
